2018 Sage Logo.pngWe are coming to you today with more news on the Sage Rebranding strategy which will begin rolling out over the next 18months. We will ensure that all of our customers are well informed of the branding changes and will strive to eliminate any confusion it may generate. ‘A Corporate brand will be most effective when it stands for something meaningful to the customer’, David Aaker, Brand Portfolio Strategy. This is the driving force behind the Sage rebranding strategy. The goal is to build the Sage brand as a strong and trusted brand in order to increase the value proposition of how Sage can support the needs of small and medium businesses.

Over the years, Sage users began to recognize their products as brands within the brand. Products like ‘Accpac’, ‘Simply’, and ‘Timberline’ were considered brands in themselves. In order to create a stronger brand for Sage which is recognized globally, it was decided to remove these sub-brands and replace them with a similar branding strategy to the one used in Europe.

In this approach, most products are grouped into families unified by a number, such as Sage 50 Accounting and Sage 50 Construction. Product names like Accpac, Timberline, or Simply Accounting are dropped to facilitate customer identification with the larger Sage brand. That is precisely the change that is now being made here in North America. 

Specifically to the products that BAASS carries, ‘Sage 300 – formerly known as Sage ERP Accpac’ is what you will be seeing as the strategy begins to roll out. Sage ERP Accpac 100, 200 and 500 will become Sage 300 Standard, Advanced and Premium, respectively. Some of the non-core products like Sage CRM will not change. Sage FAS Fixed Assets and Sage Abra HRMS will shorten to become Sage FAS and Sage HRMS, respectively.

We understand that this may be a confusing or frustrating change for some of you so please express any concerns you have with one of us here at BAASS.
