To help you stay ahead, software updates and new versions are released to improve the functionality and usability of your solution. These updates ensure that you are able to manage new compliance issues and government regulations, further streamline your operations, and provide visibility into key business intelligence and performance metrics.
The key to mitigating upgrade issues or disruptions is to have both a long-term software lifecycle strategy and a comprehensive tactical plan for the actual upgrade project.
Your business success depends on fully functioning solutions and product upgrades are integral in maintaining this functionality. It is important that end-users and senior management fully understand both the timing and upgrade implementation strategy laid out in the project plan. You need to strike the right balance between regularly updating your software and minimizing cost and disruption to your business.
As you may recall, we announced last month that Sage 300 Version 5.4 will no longer be supported. This change is particularly important because it means no additional tax updates will be made available after the 2010 tax year. The last payroll tax update was sent out January 1, 2011 and there will NOT be a 5.4 Payroll Tax Table Update for March 2011, July 2011, September 2011, December 2011 or going forward.
Sage policies state that only current versions and two versions back will be supported, with product updates being made available to current versions only. As a courtesy to our customers, support will be offered until April 1, 2011.
Please note that 5.4 customers are now eligible for the win back promotion.
