MS Excel Keyboard Shortcuts - Get the Cheat Sheet

MS-Excel has proven to be a very handy, useful tool when used in conjunction with Sage ERP.  Some of the tasks it can help with include: data imports and exports such as GL Budgets or AR Customers; opening and manipulating reports such as a GL Trial Balance; SAI reporting; and Financial Reporter.

To assist you with using MS-Excel, the following is a list of some shortcut keys for that software.  Find the ones you like and use away!

Ctrl + 0 - Hides the selected columns
Ctrl + 1 - Displays 'Format Cells' dialog box
Ctrl + 2 - Applies or removes bold formatting (Ctrl + B)
Ctrl + 3 - Applies or removes italic formatting (also Ctrl + I)
Ctrl + 4 - Applies or removes underlining (also Ctrl + U)
Ctrl + 5 - Applies or removes strike through
Ctrl + 6 - Alternates between hiding and displaying objects
Ctrl + 8 - Displays or hides the outline symbols
Ctrl + 9 - Hides selected rows
Ctrl + A - Selects entire worksheet
Ctrl + C - Copies selected cells
Ctrl + D - Uses Fill Down command to copy the contents and the format of the topmost cell of a selected range into the cells below
Ctrl + F - Displays Find and Replace dialog box, with Find tab selected
Ctrl + H - Displays Find and Replace dialog box, with Replace tab selected
Ctrl + K - Displays insert Hyperlink dialog box for new hyperlinks or Edit hyperlink dialog box for selected existing hyperlinks
Ctrl + L - Displays Create Table dialog box (also Ctrl + L)
Ctrl + N - Creates a new blank workbook
Ctrl + O - Displays Open dialog box to open or find a file
Ctrl + P - Displays Print tab
Ctrl + R - Uses Fill Right command to copy the contents and format of the leftmost cell of a selected range in the cells to the right.
Ctrl + S - Saves the active file
Ctrl + V - Inserts contents of Clipboard at the insertion point and replaces selection. After cut/copy
Ctrl + W - Closes selected workbook window
Ctrl + Y - Repeats last command or action if possible
Ctrl + Z - Uses Undo command to reverse the last command or to delete the last entry that you typed
Ctrl + ; - Enters current date
Ctrl + '+' - Opens Insert dialog box
Ctrl + '-' - Opens Delete dialog box
Ctrl + PgUp - Switches between worksheet tabs, from left-to-right
Ctrl + PgDn - Switches between worksheet tabs, from right-to-left
Ctrl + Spacebar - Selects current column
