Error: 'There Are No Installed Organizations' When Opening Sage 300

Error: there are no installed organizations when opening sage 300

Problem Details:

Launching Sage 300 may produce the following error on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 machines:

"There are no installed organizations"

Solution:

This can be caused by insufficient permissions to read the orgs.ism file.  In this case:

  1. Right-click on the program shortcut
  2. Choose 'Run as administrator' to start Sage 300

You can set this as a default by right click on the shortcut, select properties.  On the Shortcut tab, click on Advanced. Click 'Run as Administrator' then 'OK' and then 'Apply'.  Now, when you click on that shortcut it will run as an administrator without you having to select that option every time.
